Tromsø International Film Festival

The Tromsø Internasjonale Film Festival ( TIFF short; German " Tromsø International Film Festival ", English Tromsø International Film Festival) is an international film event, which takes place every year since 1991 in mid-January in the northern Norwegian town Tromso. The six-day festival, which is considered the most northerly film festival in the world, is Norway's largest film festival, the fifth largest cultural event in the country and largest cultural event in Northern Norway. In 2011 alone attracted over 52,000 spectators around 300 films in six venues, including in Norway's oldest cinema building, the Verdensteatret (engl. " The Theatre of the World ").
