Tubbergen

Tubbergen ( listen? / I ) is a municipality in the Netherlands, Overijssel province.

In the town the following towns and villages are:

* About 1,000 residents:

  • Tubbergen ( seat of the municipal administration); Geesteren (not to be confused with Geesteren in Borculo, Gelderland Prov. ); Albergen, Harbrinkhoek, Langeveen, Reutum.

* For 1000 inhabitants:

  • Vasse, Mariaparochie ( grown at Almelo ), Hezingen, Mander, Haarle and Fleringen.

Location and economic

Tubbergen between Almelo and Twenterand in the West, Uelsen ( county Bentheim ) in Germany in the north and spelled in the east. The municipality has no significant industry. The people live mostly by farming or tourism. Geesteren has some famous stud farms, which have produced some jumping and dressage horses of world class.

Attractions

  • In Geesteren an annual Concours Horse Show Jumping (CSI Twente) is held.
  • In Vasse are two beautiful old water mills ( Bels and Frans) with pancake restaurant.
  • In Mander there are some grave mounds from the prehistory.
  • The north and east of the district borders the county of Bentheim and spelled the country and offers a very nice, wooded and slightly hilly landscape.
