United States Department of Commerce

The Ministry of Commerce of the United States (official United States Department of Commerce) is part of the Federal Government and cares about the needs of the economy - with the aim of promoting their growth. The agency was originally founded on 14 February 1903 as the Ministry of Trade and Labor. In 1913, the area was " working " but spun in the now independent Ministry of Labour.

Organization

The mission of the Department of Commerce is the creation of jobs and securing the standard of living for all citizens of the United States through the development of necessary infrastructure. Economic growth, competitiveness and the continuing positive development on this basis should be ensured. For this purpose, the Authority collects economic and demographic data by the Office of Census to allow economic and political decisions. The Commerce Department will award patents, rights for trademarks ( trademarks ) and assists in the implementation and adoption of industry standards ( standard).

Around 36,000 employees work for the authority, which is headed by the United States Secretary of Commerce, the Trade Minister. Seat of authority is the Herbert C. Hoover Building, an office building in Federal Triangle just a few meters from the White House.

Minister situation 2011 - 2013

Since then, John Bryson had resigned from his post of trade minister in June 2012, was the Department of Commerce in the balance.
