Uruguayan municipal elections, 2000

The local elections in Uruguay in 2000 took place on 14 May. Were elected for a five year term, the Intendentes the 19 departments of Uruguay.

In the thirteen departments of Cerro Largo, Colonia, Durazno, Flores, Florida, Lavalleja, Maldonado, Paysandú, Rocha, San Jose, Soriano, Tacuarembó and Treinta y Tres won each of the candidate of the Partido Nacional, while, in the five departments of Artigas, Canelones Province of Rio Negro, Rivera and the Salto Partido Colorado won the election in their favor. In the Department of Montevideo, the Frente Amplio was the winner of the elections.
