Uruguayan general election, 1962

The government and parliamentary elections in Uruguay in 1962 found on Sunday, 25 November 1962.

From the concurrent government and parliamentary elections was the Partido Nacional, which included three Sublemas, emerged as the winner. The Partido Colorado, which included four Sublema, subject to a further four years after the historic victory of the Blancos.

In the elections, the electoral system was aligned with the relative majority in Lema system, both the collegial executive, known as the Consejo Nacional de Gobierno (CNG), and the deputies and senators elected under a proportional representation for a term of four years. On March 1, 1963, the Consejo Nacional de Gobierno occurred with a Ubedoxia majority of the official duties. This was one of Unión Blanca Democrática and the Orthodox Herrerismus existing alliance. The latter included, for example, Víctor Haedo, Alberto Heber and Luis Giannattasio. The CNG sat down beside composed of nine members.   • Other parties: 8.1%

  • Partido Nacional: 48.2 %
  • Partido Colorado: 45.2%
