The Office Usedom- Süd is located in the northeast of the district Vorpommern - Greifswald in Mecklenburg- Vorpommern ( Germany ). The office existed from 1992, originally from the four communities Morgenitz, Rank joke, Stolpe and the town of Usedom. On 15 January 1996, the community changed its name to Stolpe Stolpe auf Usedom. Morgenitz was incorporated into Mellenthin on 1 January 2005. On the same day the Office of Usedom -Süd to the communities of the dissolved offices Ahlbeck to Szczecin Lagoon, On Schmollensee and Usedom Island Center expanded. In the new office Usedom -Süd are the 15 municipalities Benz, Dargen, Garz, Kamminke, Korswandt, Koserow, Loddin, Mellenthin, Pudagla, Rank joke, Stolpe auf Usedom, Ueckeritz, Zempin, Zirchow and the town of Usedom ( Headquarters ) to do their administrative business together. At the same time eliminated the previously independent municipalities Ahlbeck and Bansin from office and formed since the formerly official free community Heringsdorf the municipality and Dreikaiserbäder, which was renamed on 1 January 2006 in Ostseebad Heringsdorf.

The office area extends from the isthmus means of Usedom up to a hilly moraine landscape on the southern part of the island of Usedom. It is bordered by the Baltic Sea in the north, the river Peene in the West, the Szczecin Lagoon in the south, and Poland in the east. In addition to the surrounding waters still exist several large lakes in the office, such as the Gothensee, Schmollensee and Wolgastsee. The Streckelsberg to Koserow (60 m above sea level. HN ) and the Golm near Kamminke (69 m above sea level. HN) are next to the Zirowberg at Ahlbeck the highest elevations on the island of Usedom. The entire office area is located in the nature park Usedom Island.

The tourism in the Baltic Sea, especially in the major seaside resorts economically plays a prominent role. The fishing and agriculture have hardly important industry is virtually non-existent.

Through the Office of Usedom -South State Road 110 lead (from Anklam to the Polish border ), the Federal Highway 111 (from Wolgast to the B110 at Mellenthin ) and the railway line Ducherow - Heringsdorf - Wolgast ferry. In the southeast of the Office is the Heringsdorf Airport.
