Vasiliy Koshechkin

Vasily Vladimirovich Koschetschkin (Russian Василий Владимирович Кошечкин; born March 27, 1983 in Togliatti, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian professional ice hockey goaltender, who plays for HK Metallurg Magnitogorsk in the Kontinental Hockey League since May 2013.

Career

Vasily Koschetschkin began his career in 1998 with the second team of HK Lada Togliatti. In the NHL Entry Draft in 2002 it chose the Tampa Bay Lightning in the eighth round at the 233 location. In the season 2002/ 03 he played with Olimpija Kirovo - Tschepezk and Neftjanik Almetyevsk. Between 2003 and 2007, the goalkeeper was again at HK Lada Togliatti on the ice before he moved to Ak Bars Kazan for the 2007 /08 season. In his hometown club HK Lada Togliatti Koschetschkin again stood between summer 2008 and November 2009 under contract before he moved to Metallurg Magnitogorsk. End of June 2010, he moved within the KHL Severstal Cherepovets to and grew to become a key player within the team.

In May 2013 he returned to Metallurg Magnitogorsk.

Internationally

At the 2007 World Championships Koschetschkin was appointed to the Russian national team. He was employed in three games and won with the selection team the bronze medal. Two years later he won the gold medal with the team.
