Viktor Mazin

Viktor Ivanovich Masin ( born April 18, 1954 in Tschernowskije Kopi, Chita Oblast ) is a former Soviet weightlifter.

Sporting career

Masins first and only international competition was the 1980 Olympics in Moscow. He started featherweight up to 60 kg and achieved 290.0 kg ( 130.0 / 160.0 kg ), with which he won the gold medal. The runner-up Stefan Dimitrov scored 287.5 kg. This event represented the same time the World Cup for 1980, which Masin also became world champion. Despite its relatively short international career Masin could lift several world records.
