Tony Terlazzo

Anthony Terlazzo ( born July 28, 1911 in Patti, Italy, † March 26, 1966 in Los Angeles, California ) was an American weightlifter.

Career

He was the son of Italian immigrants in the 1920s. In New York, landed, he drove first as a child and teenager many sports before it, because he was very small and light and wanted to be stronger, came to weight lifting. One project, which, as it turned out later, fully succeeded. At the York Barbell Club he had the best possible support at that time. At the Olympic Games 1932 in Los Angeles, he was the first American to win an Olympic medal in weightlifting. 1936, at the Olympic Games in Berlin, he won superior featherweight and was Olympic champion. By 1947 Anthony Terlazzo remained in the world class powerlifter.
