Vollmersweiler is a municipality in the district of Germersheim, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs since 1972 to the municipality Kandel.

Geography

Geographical location

The place is located in the southern Palatinate between Karlsruhe and Landau in the Palatinate. Neighboring municipalities are - clockwise - Dierbach, Freckenfeld, Wörth am Rhein (local district Schaidt ) Niederotterbach and Steinfeld.

History

Vollmersweiler belonged to the late 18th century to the reign Guttenberg. At times it was divided in the 18th century the mayor with the westerly village Niederotterbach.

Religion

2012 were 47.1 percent of the population Protestant and 23.8 percent Catholic. The other belonged to a different religion or no religious affiliation were.

Regular events

In the first place, the annual church fete is on the third Sunday in September, which goes each over three days. The end of June / beginning of July, the Fountain Festival held in the town square.

Traffic

Vollmersweiler is connected via the bus line 547, which connects the stations Kandel and Bad Bergzabern each other to the public transport network.
