Neuburg am Rhein

Neuburg am Rhein is a municipality in the district of Germersheim, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Hagenbach.

Geographical location

The municipality is located in the southeastern corner of Rhineland -Palatinate between the Rhine and Lauter. On the opposite bank of the Rhine, the large district Rheinstetten are ( Neuburgweier ), Au am Rhein ( district of Rastatt ) and Karlsruhe ( Daxlanden ).

History

In the two-volume work " Alsatia illustrata " (Colmar, 1751 and 1761), the historian Johann Daniel Schöpflin reported a Schenkungsakt of Neuburg -area at the Benedictine monastery founded by St. Pirmin Hornbach, documented clearly established in the year 754 is 1086 the donation of the county " Vorechheim " in Ufgau (now Forchheim ( Rheinstetten ) ), by Emperor Henry IV to the bishopric of Speyer. Dialect

Fire department

The volunteer fire department Neuburg consists of 30 members. There are three vehicles (TSF -W, LF 8 and MZF ) and a lifeboat ( RTB 2 ) are available. The fire department puts out annually to approximately 25 to 30 missions. The young firefighters has 15 members.
