Weingarten, Rhineland-Palatinate

Weingarten ( Palatinate) ( Palatine: Wingerde ) is a municipality in the district of Germersheim, in Rhineland- Palatinate. It belongs to the municipality Lingen field.

Geography

Weingarten is located about 12 kilometers north- west of the county town of Germersheim, about 16 kilometers northeast of Landau in der Pfalz and about 13 kilometers southwest of Speyer.

Weingarten has the following communities with a common border: Free Stream, Lustadt, Schwegenheim, West Home ( Palatinate ) (all district of Germersheim ) and Freimersheim ( Palatinate) ( County Southern Wine Route ).

The municipality also includes the living spaces on the garden path, Draishof, Weiherhof, Wiesenhof, Brickyard teaching and Hainbachhof.

History

The Gäudorf Weingarten can look back on over 1200 years of history. The first mention followed in the year 771 under the name, Wingarda. Located the remains of a north-west of the present village in 1525 destroyed castle were demolished in the 18th century. Coat of arms

The blazon of the arms is: " Argent, a grünbeblätterte and bestielte blue grape".

It was approved in 1841 by the Bavarian king and goes back to a court seal from 1776.

Sports

The SV Weingarten in 1946 played three years in the fourth division football league West before it was dissolved in 2005 and was founded in 2007 as SV Weingarten 2007 new.

Economy and infrastructure

Weingarten has currently ( September 2012 ) a baker, a butcher, a pharmacy, a stationery shop, a hairdresser, two vegetables actions, a real estate agency as well as an auto repair shop. In addition there are many companies that are dedicated to the production of agricultural goods, mainly lettuce, radishes and roses.

In Weingarten is a pizzeria, a restaurant and two bars.
