Wang Nam Yen District

Amphoe Wang Nam Yen ( Thai: อำเภอ วังน้ำเย็น ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the south of the province of Sa Kaeo. The Sa Kaeo province is located in the eastern region of Thailand at the border to Cambodia.

Geography

Amphoe Wang Nam Yen is by following Amphoe limited ( seen from the north clockwise from ): Amphoe Khao Chakan which, Watthana Nakhon, Khlong Hat and Wang Sombun in the province of Sa Kaeo and Amphoe Tha Takiap in Chachoengsao province.

History

When the government had in 1971 the " National Road 317 " completed between the towns of Chantaburi and Sa Kaeo, the inhabitants of the villages of Ban Tha Ta Si and Ban Nong Prue settled on the new road. They named their new village Ban Wang Nam Yen. In 1975, the area to the Tambon Wang Nam Yen Amphoe Mueang of Sa Kaeo has been promoted. On 1 December 1976, the sub-district ( King Amphoe ) Wang Nam Yen was established, which consisted at that time of the three tambon Wang Nam Yen, Wang Sombun and Ta Lang Nai. On April 1, 1983 Wang Nam Yen got the full Amphoe status.

Policy

Amphoe Wang Nam Yen is the home district of Sanoh Thienthong, an active at the national level since the 1970s politicians. He leads a group of deputies from the Northeast region in parliament, the party changes from election to election, depending on who promises her the most benefits. Until 1996, this was the Chart Thai party, then the party of the new hope, after 2000, the Thai Rak Thai Party, 2006 Pracharaj Party and since 2011, the Pheu Thai Party. After Sanohs residence it is called the " Wang Nam Yen Group." In the 1990s Sanoh and the Wang Nam Yen group were regarded as kingmaker Thai politics.

Management

Amphoe Wang Nam Yen ( tambon) divided into four municipalities, which continue in 69 villages ( Muban ) are divided.

Wang Nam Yen ( Thai: เทศบาล เมือง วังน้ำเย็น ) is the name of a city ( Mueang thesaban ) in the district. It consists of the whole tambon Wang Nam Yen.

There are also three " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
