Tha Takiap District

Population = 42,742 km ²

Amphoe Tha Takiap ( in Thai: อำเภอ ท่า ตะเกียบ ) is a district ( Amphoe - administrative district ) in the east of the province of Chachoengsao. The Chachoengsao province is located in the eastern region of central Thailand.

Geography

Neighboring districts (from north clockwise): Amphoe Sanam Chai Khet of Chachoengsao Province, Amphoe Khao Chakan the Wang Nam Yen and Wang Sombun in the province of Sa Kaeo, Amphoe Kaeng Hang Maeo at Chantaburi province, as well as Amphoe Bo Thong and Ko Chan in the province of Chonburi.

History

Tha Takiap was on 1 April 1991 initially as a sub-district ( King Amphoe ) was established by two tambon were separated from Amphoe Sanam Chai Khet. On 5 December 1996 Tha Takiap was promoted to Amphoe.

Management

Amphoe Tha Takiap is divided into two subdistricts (tambon ), which are further subdivided into 45 villages ( Muban ).

There are also two " Tambon Administrative Organizations" (TAO, องค์การ บริหาร ส่วน ตำบล - administrative organizations) in the district.
