Weyer is a market town with 4213 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2013 ) in Upper Austria in the district of Steyr-Land in Traun quarter. Since 1 January 2014, the community is part of the judicial district of Steyr. The 1897 split of Weyer - market rural part Weyer country was reunited as of 1 January 2007 with Weyer - market to a single community.

History

Originally in the eastern part of the duchy of Bavaria lying, was the place since the 12th century the Duchy of Austria. Since 1490 he is the Principality of Austria above the Enns attributed. During the Napoleonic Wars, the place was occupied several times.

From 1941 prisoners of war were housed in a barracks and used for construction work along the Enns.
