Ya'an

Ya'an (雅安 市, Ya'an Shì ) is a prefecture-level city in the central west, southwest China's Sichuan Province. Ya'an is bordered to the north by the Autonomous District Ngawa the Tibetan and Qiang, on the west by the Autonomous District Garzê the Tibetans, to the south and southeast by the Liangshan Yi Autonomous County and in the east ( from north to south ) to the cities of Chengdu, Meishan and Leshan.

Located in the urban area and stone carvings of the Que grave system of Gao Yi (高 颐 墓 阙 及 石刻, Gao Yi Mu Què jí Shike ) are on the list of monuments of the People's Republic of China.

Administrative Divisions

At county level, Ya'an is made up of two districts and six counties. These are:

  • City District Yucheng (雨城区), 1060 km ², 340,000 inhabitants, center, seat of the city government;
  • Municipality Mingshan (名 山区), 614 km ², 260,000 inhabitants, capital: greater community Mengyang (蒙 阳镇);
  • Circle Yingjing (荥经县), 1781 km ², 140,000 inhabitants, capital: greater community Yandao (严 道 镇);
  • Circle Hanyuan (汉源县), 2349 km ², 350,000 inhabitants, capital: community Shirong (市 荣 乡);
  • Circle shimian (石棉县), 2678 km ², 120,000 inhabitants, capital: Street district Miancheng (棉 城 街道);
  • Circle Tianquan (天 全县), 2394 km ², 150,000 inhabitants, capital: greater community Chengxiang (城厢镇);
  • Lushan county (芦山 县), 1364 km ², 120,000 inhabitants, capital: greater community Luyang (芦 阳镇);
  • Circle Baoxing (宝兴县), 3114 km ², 60,000 inhabitants, capital: greater community Muping (穆 坪镇).

History

With the dissolution of the province Xikang in 1955 and the Government District Ya'an (雅安 专区, from 1970:雅安 地区) was re- integrated into the province of Sichuan. Seat of county government was an administrative district in Ya'an (雅安 市). At the same time Luding county was separated from Garzê and slammed the government district. Thus, this consisted of a city and eight circles. In 1956, Luding but was " returned " to Garzê and there remained seven circles. In 1959 the city of Ya'an in the circle Ya'an (雅安 县) was converted. 1983, the county Ya'an was dissolved again and founded the independent city of Ya'an new. Finally, the government district Ya'an was simultaneously converted to the Ya'an prefecture-level city and the county-level city of Ya'an in the Municipality Yucheng On June 14, 2000.
