Yegor Podomatsky

Yegor Gennadjewitsch Podomazki (Russian Егор Геннадьевич Подомацкий; born November 22, 1976 in Rybinsk, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian professional ice hockey goaltender who is under contract with HK Mechel Chelyabinsk in the Wysschaja Hockey League since July 2011.

Career

Yegor Podomazki grew up in Rybinsk and began in his hometown with the Hockey Game. Later he moved to the hockey school Sdjuschor Yaroslavl. In the 1995/96 season he made his debut for Torpedo Yaroslavl in the International Hockey League, where he was second behind goalkeeper Yevgeny Tarasov. In the following two seasons was Podomazki goalkeeper of Torpedo, which he received in 1997 competition from Vitaly Jeremejew. 1997 won Podomazki with Yaroslavl also his first Russian Championship.

In the 1998/99 season he shared the goalie position with Oleg Shevtsov, before he was goalkeeper of the club again in the following season. 2000 identified the customer's home club in Lokomotiv Yaroslavl. 2002 and 2003 won Podomazki Yaroslavl with two Russian league titles. By 2008, he completed 387 games for Yaroslavl in each top division of Russia, where he scored a total of 62 shutouts. He holds the goalkeeper record for matches played for the same club in Russia.

In 2008 he moved before the first KHL season to HK Lada Togliatti, where he behind Vasiliy Koschetschkin and Mike Fountain came as the third goalkeeper on a few bets and therefore also in the second team of the club as well as Disel Pensa was used.

In the summer of 2009, he was first taken from Awtomobilist Yekaterinburg under contract and completed a preparatory match for the club. Then, his contract was terminated and Podomazki signed a contract with HK Rys Podolsk from the Wysschaja league. He left this club again after 32 games and moved within the league to Ariada- Akpars Wolschsk. In Wolschsk he was under contract until November 2010 and completed 27 games for the club before moving to Yermak Angarsk within the Wysschaja Hockey League. For Jermak he brought it to a total of 29 appearances in the second division of Russia.

Internationally

In the 1998 World Cup for the first time Podomazki belonged to the Russian national team and was the second goalkeeper behind Oleg Shevtsov two missions, where he conceded nine goals. A year later, at the 1999 World Cup, he was again included in the squad and came as a goalkeeper in all six games of the Sbornaja used, reaching a quota of 90.58 percent and a Gegentorschnitt of 2.41. More participated in the World Championships followed in 2000, 2002 and 2004, where he again goalkeeper of Sbornaja was 2000 and 2002, together with Maxim Sokolov formed an equal Torhüterduo. In the 2002 World Cup Podomazki also won the silver medal, while Sokolow was also awarded as Best Goalkeeper of the tournament.

Podomazkis international career was crowned with the bronze medal at the 2002 Winter Olympics, where he behind Nikolai Chabibulin came as the second goalkeeper to no use.
