Zamboanga del Norte

Zamboanga del Norte is a province on the island of Mindanao in the southern Philippines. It occupies the northwestern and northern part of the Zamboanga Peninsula, the capital of the North of the province of Dipolog City.

Geography

History

Initially included large parts of the northern peninsula of the province of Misamis, the district Dapitan included with the corresponding district of Dipolog. By 1913, the province of Zamboanga Dapitan was associated with the capital of Zamboanga City. 1942 shifted Governor Felipe B. Azcuna briefly the seat of government of Zamboanga City to Dipolog. Economy
