- 2008: The parliament of the Serbian region of Kosovo declared the country as the Republic of Kosovo unilaterally and independently takes on the same day a new national flag. Serbia has been previously explained, citing Resolution 1244 of the UN Security Council announced the declaration of independence null and void.
- 2012: The German Federal President Christian Wulff resigns after sustained criticism and allegations of corruption. Federal President Horst Seehofer temporarily takes over the official duties.
