Geographical Location
Heidenau is located northwest of the Lüneburg Heath Nature Park. The community belongs to the Samtgemeinde Tostedt, which has its headquarters in the town of Tostedt.

Community structure

History
Incorporations
The municipality was formed in 1928 from the places Everstorf and Avensen.
