Geographical Location

Undeloh located 4 km northeast of the Wilseder mountain in the Lüneburg Heath.

The municipality consists of six districts Undeloh Undeloh, Wehlen, Wesel, meninges, and Thonhof Heimbuch.

History

Incorporations

On 1 July 1972, the neighboring community Wehlen was incorporated.

The council, which was elected in 2011, is made up as follows:

Undeloh is a popular heath excursion especially for the Greater Hamburg.

Nächstgeleger station is Handeloh (11 km), but there is in Buchholz (22 km) a better rail service.

Undeloh is served by the CCG regional bus 4206 (after Egestorf / salt Hausen ). This line is part of the Hamburg Transport Association ( HVV).

In addition, drive public school buses to schools in Egestorf, Hanstedt and beech wood. (Lines 4611 and 4631 )

Social institutions

Against the planned establishment of an asylum seeker 's home in Undeloh there is strong resistance in the local population, what was being reported in the national media. In the course of this debate, the impairment of the townscape and the resulting threat to tourism and real estate trade by the presence of people with differing from the locals phenotypic characteristics or cultural practices were cited as arguments by the inhabitants.

Others

The name Undeloh means " source Hain ". A small pond, the so-called hunger Pond (also called hunger Pohl ), allegedly resulted in earlier droughts plenty of water and could be used for irrigation and livestock watering. Addition, there were merchants from the region to see if it is a dry or wet year.
