John E. Grotberg

John E. Grotberg ( born March 23, 1925 in Winnebago, Minnesota, † November 15, 1986 in St. Charles, Illinois ) was an American politician. In the years 1985 and 1986, he represented the state of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Career

John Grotberg visited the Valley City High School in North Dakota and graduated from the University of Chicago and then to 1961 at the George Williams College thereafter. After that, he was Finance Director at the YMCA of Metropolitan Chicago. At the same time he proposed as a member of the Republican Party launched a political career. Between 1973 and 1977 he was a delegate in the House of Representatives from Illinois; 1977 to 1985 he was a member of the State Senate.

In the congressional elections of 1984 Grotberg was in the 14th electoral district of Illinois in the U.S. House of Representatives in Washington DC chosen, where he succeeded the meantime resigned Tom Corcoran on January 3, 1985. He could exercise his office until his death on 15 November 1986. John Grotberg died of cancer and was buried at the Union Cemetery in St. Charles.
