1947 Little League World Series

The Little League World Series 1947 was the first to host the Little League Baseball World Series, a baseball tournament for boys 11 to 12 years. At that time still under the name of National Little League Tournament.

Played on the Bowman Field in Williamsport. This is located on the banks of the West Branch Susquehanna River whose dam served as a natural grandstand. Although now a new stadium was built, it is still possible to play on the original box.
