2001 Little League World Series
The Little League World Series 2001 was the 55th staging of the Little League Baseball World Series, an international baseball tournament for boys 11 to 12 years. It was played like every year in South Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
Compared to last year the number of participants was increased, introduced the game for 3rd place again and also opened the new Little League Volunteer Stadium.
The team from New York was disqualified as the player is Danny Almonte was two years above the maximum age. All games of the LLWS and the qualifications were retrospectively evaluated forfeit to the opponent.

New In total 16 teams (eight international and U.S. ) could qualify for the tournament. These regions were divided as follows:

The 16 teams playing in four groups of four teams each FFA. The top two teams then play in qualifying matches for the title.
