1957 Little League World Series

The Little League World Series 1957 was the 11th staging of the Little League Baseball World Series, an international baseball tournament for boys 11 to 12 years. It was the first edition in which one had to qualify through regions. Thus the number of participants was reduced to four teams. It was played in Williamsport.

In July 1957, the team took from Monterrey with a three- day visa at a tournament in McAllen, Texas part. The plan was a day to play and two days to go sightseeing. After the victory in McAllen and the other two days stay in the U.S. they ran out of money and a new arrival in the United States would have been impossible. After several phone calls to Washington a solution could be found that the team should stay out of the tournaments in the United States until the final departure. To this end, it never came because the team never lost a tournament. They won six tournaments in a row, including the Little League World Series tournament of the Southern Region and the Little League World Series in 1957. In September, the team returned still undefeated back to Mexico. The services of los pequeños gigantes (the little giant ) is retold in the two films Los Pequenos Gigantes (1960 ) IMDB and The Perfect Game (2008) Imdb.

In the final match of the Mexican pitcher Angel Macias threw the first and only Perfect Game the history of the LLWS.
