1958 FIBA European Champions Cup
The season 1958 was the first season of the material discharged from the FIBA Europe European Champions' Cup, which operates under the name Euro League today. So she was the first international season ever in basketball.
The first game in the history of European Basketball Cup contested on February 22, 1958 as part of the qualification for the main round of the Royal SC Anderlecht from Belgium and BBC Etzella from Luxembourg. Anderlecht won the game with 82:43.
The title was won ASK Riga from the Soviet Union.

Mode
At the final eight masters took part of the national league. First, a qualifier was played, which was occupied in four divided by region groups, of which two teams qualified for the final round. The winner of the match pairings were determined in return game. The decisive factor was the whole goal average of both games. The winner of the match pairings in the quarterfinal, in the semifinal and the final, were also determined in return game.

* The Spanish government forbade the team of Real Madrid travel to the Soviet Union, so ASK Riga moved without a fight in the final.
