1998 IIHF European U18 Championship
The 31 Hockey Championship U18 juniors took place from 11 to 19 April 1998 Malung and Mora in Sweden. The Games of the B group were held in the German cities of Füssen and Memmingen from 5 to 12 April 1998. The C group played from 16 to 20 March 1998 in Zagreb, Croatia. Luxembourg was from 3 to March 8, 1998 the venue of the D group.

Continued as World Cup
In the following season 1998 /99, the International Ice Hockey Federation held its first world championship for juniors age group U18. For the first edition of this World Cup, the group structure and the class membership of the European teams were largely adopted.
