2005–06 SPHL season
The 2005/06 season was the second regular season of the Southern Professional Hockey League. The seven teams completed in the regular season of 56 games each. The point of best team in the regular season were the Knoxville Ice Bears, which also for the first time won the President's Cup in the play- offs.
Team changes
The following changes were made before the start of the season:
- The Asheville Aces stopped the game operation.
- The Macon Trax stopped the game operation.
- The Winston-Salem Polar Twins stopped the game operation.
- The Florida Seals were added as an expansion team in the league.
- The Pee Dee Cyclones were added as an expansion team in the league.
