2008–09 Latvian Hockey League season

The 2008/09 season was the 18th season of the Latvian Hockey League, the highest Latvian Hockey League. Champion for a fifth time in club history the HK Liepaja Metalurgs.

Mode

In the main round of the eight teams each completed 28 games. The top four teams qualified for the playoffs, where the Master was played. For the playoffs automatically qualified also were the four Latvian participants of the Belarusian Extraliga. For one victory after regulation time, each team received three points for a win after overtime, each team got two points for a loss after overtime there was a point and a defeat after regular time zero points.
