2008 Women's Hockey Champions Trophy
The 16th FIH Champions Trophy Women in hockey took place from May 17 to May 25, 2008 in Mönchengladbach. The world's top six teams played in the Warsteiner Hockey Park where even the FIH Hockey World Championship for Men was held in 2006. The Netherlands was defending champion and world champion.
The German Hockey national women needed only a 0-0 draw against Argentina on May 24 to collect the sixth time in the final. There they met again on the Argentina lost the final game 6-2, coming in second place.
Last year's winner Netherlands met in 3rd place match to China and was able to prevail in this game 3-0. To place 5 played Australia and Japan. Australia won the match 3-0.
