The 16th European Cross Country Championships were held in the EAA Dublin ( Ireland) on December 13, 2009.

Course

In Santry Park, a 1635 m long loop was established, which could be reduced to 1538 m and 1000 m. There were also 769 m between start and finish. The men coped with six medium-sized rounds ( 9.997 km ), the women and U23 men a large and three medium-sized rounds ( 8.018 km ), the U23 women and juniors, two small and two large rounds ( 6.039 km ) and the junior two large rounds ( 4.039 km ).
