2004 European Cross Country Championships

The 11th European Cross Country Championships were held in the EAA Heringsdorf ( Germany ) on 12 December 2004.

Just south of the village in the island of Usedom Nature Park Schloonsees a 1500 m long loop was established, which could be reduced to 1,000 m. There were also a start of 80 m and a stretch of 60 m. The men coped with five large and two small rounds ( 9.64 km ), the women and juniors three large and one small round ( 5.64 km ) and the junior one large and two small rounds ( 3.64 km ).

In the women's France was subsequently awarded the bronze medal for the team that had originally gone to Germany after video recordings showed that Fatiha Klilech - Fauvel had arrived at rank 30 instead of rank 31. At the same points, which now arose between the two teams, the better placement of each fourth-best runner decided.
