2010 Commonwealth Bank Tournament of Champions

The Commonwealth Bank Tournament of Champions 2010 (also known as International Tournament of Champions ) was a women's tennis invitational tournament which was played as an individual competition in the indoor hard courts and part of the WTA Tour was 2010. It was held on the island of Bali in Indonesia from 4th to 7th November 2010 at the International Conference Centre ( Indah Hall ) in Nusa Dua, and was the second edition of this tournament. Defending champion was the Frenchwoman Aravane Rezai.

Qualification

Qualification mode

For tournament eight ladies were invited to meet the following requirements:

  • For the six highest ranked players in the WTA World Ranking ( as at 25 October 2010), at least one of 32 tournaments in the category International ( prize money: U.S. $ 220,000 ) of the WTA Tour in 2010 won and not compete in the Championships of the WTA Tour in Doha, was the participation mandatory.
  • The Tournament Committee of Bali could be awarded to players who are at least one tournament in the category International participated in the WTA Tour in 2010 and did not play in Doha until 11 October 2010, two wild cards.

They nominated Ana Ivanović and Daniela Hantuchová. Since Ivanović had qualified directly by their victory in Linz and its world ranking, the second wildcard of the organizers went to the Japanese Kimiko Date Krumm.

  • If the two players, who served as reservists in Doha, would have qualified for Bali, then it would be to face them freely confessed, when they were used in Doha.
  • Players who competed in the concurrent final of the Fed Cup were exempted from participation in Bali.
