Roman Empire

Servius Cornelius Scipio Salvidienus Orfitus is ordinary consul at the side of the Emperor Claudius, but is replaced later in the year by another Suffektkonsuln.

Parthian

After the death of Gotarzes II Vonones II follows him as king of the Parthians to the throne. Tacitus describes his few -month reign in his work Annales as " short and inglorious ." That same year, he dies and his son Vologaeses I. comes to the throne. At the beginning of his reign he gives his brother Pacorus the throne of Media and another brother Tiridates the throne of Armenia. The latter gives the Romans a pretext to intervene, as they claim to Armenia. The Roman promagistrate Cappadocia, Julius Paelignus falls, one in Armenia and devastated the country. In the same year Armenia is occupied by Iberian usurper Rhadamistos who killed his uncle Mithridates of Armenia and has the power usurped.
