Abergement- lès- Thésy is a commune in the French department of Jura in the Franche -Comté.

Geography

Abergement- lès- Thésy is located at 680 m above sea level. M., southeast of Salins- les -Bains, 19 km north of the city Champagnole (air line). The farming village extends in the Jura, on the first Jura plateau at a slightly inclined to the southeast slope east of the Erosionstals Furieuse.

The area of 4.63 km ² municipal area includes a portion of the French Jura. The entire area occupied by the plateau of the Jura plateau, the average sea level to 680 m. M. is and is mainly consisted of arable and meadow land. The plateau has no above-ground rivers, because the rainwater seeps into the karst underground. With 732 m above sea level. M. is achieved on a knoll north of the village is the highest elevation of Abergement- lès- Thésy. To the southeast, the plateau descends slightly, with the municipality area extends to the area of La Chaux.

Neighboring communities of Abergement- lès- Thésy are Cernan and Dournon in the north, the east, and Lemuy Thésy and Salins- les- Bains in the West.

History

The first mentioned in the 12th century Abergement was granted certain liberties in 1266. It belonged in the Middle Ages to the rule Aresches. Together with the Franche -Comté reached the village with the Peace of Nijmegen in 1678 to France.

Population

With 68 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) Abergement- lès- Thésy one of the smallest towns in the Jura. After the population had decreased significantly in the first half of the 20th century (1881 138 people were still counted ), only relatively small fluctuations were recorded since the early 1960s.

Economy and infrastructure

Abergement- lès- Thésy was until well into the 20th century a predominantly coined by farming village. Even today, the inhabitants live on the merits of the activity in the first sector. Outside of the primary sector, there are few jobs in the village. Some of the working population commuters who engage in the larger towns in the vicinity of their work.

The village is located off the major thoroughfares on a secondary road that leads from Pont- d'Héry after Dournon. Further road links exist with Cernan and Lemuy.
