Adrian is a small town ( with a status of "City" ) in Nobles County in the U.S. state of Minnesota. In 2010, Adrian had 1,209 residents.

Geography

Adrian is located in southwestern Minnesota on the Coteau des Prairies mentioned plateau, which extends to the south to Iowa and South Dakota to the west. The geographical coordinates are 43 ° 38'06 " north latitude and 95 ° 55'58 " west longitude. The site covers an area of 2.87 km ².

History

In 1876 was first acquired land by a railway company, and measured for a settlement the system. Shortly thereafter, coinciding with the construction of the railway was the system of the present city. It was named this after Adrian Iselin, mother of Adrian C. Iselin, a director of the Sioux City and St. Paul Railroad Company. Even today, hangs a picture of the namesake in the Town Hall by Adrian.
