Afghan National Anthem
Milli Tharana ( Pashto ملي ترانه Milli Tharāna " National Anthem " ) is the national anthem of Afghanistan since 2006.
History
After the end of Taliban rule, a new national anthem for the "new Afghanistan " is created in accordance with a provision of the new Afghan constitution, the names of all ethnic groups in Afghanistan and the formula Allahu Akbar ( God is great ) be included had. After a competition Milli Tharana was declared in May 2006, the official national anthem.
Criticism
The new national anthem was criticized several times: Due to the Pashtun language other nationalities would be marginalized, also called the text is still not all ethnic groups in the country. According to devout Muslims the formula Allāhu Akbar should not appear in a song.
