Aitern

Aitern ( Alemannisch Aitere ) is a municipality in the district of Lörrach in Baden- Württemberg ( Germany ).

The municipality is a member of Gemeindeverwaltungsverband Schönau im Schwarzwald.

Geographical Location

Aitern located in 580-1078 m altitude in the valley of the Aiternbachs that pulls off into the meadow valley from the eastern slopes of the 1,414 m high Ballon.

Community structure

The municipality includes the village Aitern Aitern, the hamlet Holzinshaus, Multen ( upper and lower ) and the courtyards upper roll and lower roll Bach Bach. The municipality is the deserted village Swendenhütten.

In Multen of the 100 -kilometer Fernskiwanderweg Schonach- Ballon, the longest ski trail in the Black Forest ends. It is thus the destination of the 100 -kilometer rucksack run around the " Wäldercup " on this route, starting in Schonach.

Neighboring communities

The municipality is bordered to the north by Munster in the district of Breisgau in the Black Forest and Wieden, on the east by Utzenfeld, to the south by the town of Schönau im Schwarzwald and to the west by Schoenberg.

Climate

The annual rainfall is 1874 mm. The rainfall is in the upper third of the measuring points of the German Weather Service. About 99 % indicate lower values. The driest month is September; most rains in November. The wettest month falls around 1.4 times more rain than in the driest month. The seasonal fluctuations in precipitation are in the upper third. In over 87% of all places in the monthly rainfall varies less.

History

Archaeological finds support the conclusion that the municipality has been inhabited for more than 2000 years ago by the Celtic farmers. Aitern was first documented in 1352. The place belonged to the monastery of St. Blaise until its secularization in 1806, as was Aitern Baden.

The turnout was 74.18 %.

Economy and infrastructure

Education

Aitern has a primary school and a kindergarten. Secondary school students attend school in nearby Schönau im Schwarzwald, there also exists a secondary school. The nearest secondary school is located in Zell in the meadow valley.
