Alexander Miller Harvey

Alexander Miller Harvey (* November 24, 1867 in Richmond, Madison County, Kentucky; † March 9, 1928 in Topeka, Kansas ) was an American politician. Between 1897 and 1899 he was Deputy Governor of the State of Kansas.

Career

After studying law and qualifying as a lawyer, Alexander Harvey began working in various law firms in Topeka in this profession. He often represented poor clients before the Kansas Supreme Court Politically, he joined the Populist Party on.

In 1896 he was elected to the side of John W. Leedy for Lieutenant Governor of Kansas. This post he held between January 1897 and January 9, 1899 11. Yet he was assistant to the governor. During this time he also took as a major in the U.S. armed forces at the Spanish-American War of 1898 in part. With his wife Isabella Cone he had three children. He died on March 9, 1928 in Topeka.
