John E. Moore

John E. Moore ( born July 13, 1943 in Charleston, West Virginia) is an American politician. Between 2003 and 2007 he was Deputy Governor of the State of Kansas.

Career

John Moore attended the Washington and Lee University in Lexington ( Virginia). Subsequently, he studied until 1968 at the University of Kentucky law. Later he went to Kansas, where he was chairman of the Commerce and Industry Chamber. He also led the company Kansas, Inc. and Kansas Technology Enterprise Corporation. He was also active in the youth movement and led the so-called Kansas Children's Cabinet. In the area around Wichita, he was also active in the cultural field. So he founded the Greater Wichita Area for example Sports Commission, whose chairman he was. Since 1982 he was employed by the Cessna Aircraft Company, where he became one of two vice presidents in 1999. In 2002 he continued in this capacity to be active in politics.

Politically he was first a member of the Republican Party. In 2002 he moved to the Democrats. That same year, Moore was elected to the side of Kathleen Sebelius for Vice Governor of Kansas. This post he held between January 2003 and January 8, 2007 13. Yet he was Deputy Governor. Until 2004 he held also the office of the Minister of Trade of his state. Then for the first time the location of the Lieutenant-Governor has been converted to full-time job. He was also chairman of strategic planning Commission of the Governor. It focused on the impact of closures of military bases in Kansas.
