Alexei Emelin

Alexei Vyacheslavovich Jemelin (Russian Алексей Вячеславович Емелин; born April 25, 1986 in Togliatti, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who is since May 2011 with the Montreal Canadiens of the National Hockey League contract.

Career

Alexei Jemelin began his career as a hockey player in his hometown in the junior department of the HK Lada Togliatti, in which he was active until 2003. After one season at ZSK WWS Samara in the second-class league Wysschaja the defender returned already back to Togliatti. In 2004 NHL Entry Draft, the Russian was selected in the third round than a total of 84 players from the Montreal Canadiens.
