Alexei Kaigorodov

Alexei Pavlovich Kaigorodow (Russian Алексей Павлович Кайгородов; born July 29, 1983 in Chelyabinsk, Russian SFSR ) is a Russian ice hockey player who stands in October 2012 in Salavat Yulaev Ufa in the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Career

Kaigorodow already played in youth when Metallurg Magnitogorsk. There he was active until the summer of 2006, before he had a brief stint with the Ottawa Senators of the National Hockey League in the fall of 2006, where he completed six games. They had selected him in the second round in the NHL Entry Draft in 2002 at the 47th and needed for the 2006 /07 Centre Forward for their second forward line. Since the Russians could not meet the expectations, he was first to the Binghamton Senators, the Ottawa's farm team in the American Hockey League sent. However, the striker refused aground there and immediately returned to his original club returned to Russia. Then the Senators suspended their former draft pick on 4 November 2006 and transferred the rights to his person in January 2007 for Mike Comrie to the Phoenix Coyotes.

In the following 6 years Kaigorodow active exclusively for his hometown club in the Super League and Kontinental Hockey League and was with this 2007 Russian Champion. In 2008 he won with Metallurg the IIHF European Champions Cup. In October 2012, the contract runs until 2012 and between Metallurg Kaigorodow was dissolved and this was a few days later a contract until 2014 with Salavat Yulaev Ufa

Internationally

Kaigorodow was first appointed to the Russian national team in 2003 and had at the World Cup in 2003, two inserts. In the following years he kept coming back in games of Euro Hockey Tour for Sbornaja used, but has never been nominated for a World Cup squad. It was not until 2011 he was nominated for the World Championship in Slovakia in the national team and completed it 8 games in which he collected 4 points scorer.
