Animal Magnetism is the seventh studio album by the German hard rock band Scorpions, released in 1980. The two best-known songs of this album are the opening titles Make It Real and The Zoo, which is about 42nd Street in New York (USA).

Production history

Animal Magnetism was included in the Cologne Dierks Studios between December 1979 and February 1980. Some of the songs on the album came in the midst of production. Album Cover

The cover was designed by Storm Thorgerson of the design company Hipgnosis. Animal Magnetism is the first Scorpions album since Fly to the Rainbow ( 1974), which has a single matching cover design. Tour

The tour for this album was launched on 6 March 1980 in Japan, Tokyo. She also toured for three months by the United States. Other concerts took place in France, England, Scotland, Canada and Sweden. As opening acts, among others acted Def Leppard, Judas Priest and Ted Nugent.

The album sold so far worldwide over 4 million times. In 1991, the album in the U.S. was certified platinum.
