Matthias Jabs
Matthias Jabs ( born October 25, 1955 in Hannover ) is a German guitarist and since 1978 member of the German hard rock band Scorpions.
Career
Matthias Jabs spent several semesters studying law and played in Hannover in the bands Fargo, deadlock and Lady before joining in 1978 the Scorpions, as lead guitarist. He beat out over 100 competitors, the three days tested the Scorpions in London. Matthias Jabs got the job and took over the heavy succession of legendary guitarist Uli Jon Roth, the band's style helped to shape decisively in the 1970s. Shortly after joining, he recorded the album with the Scorpions Love Drive. A little later his career in 1979 but was already over. The brother of Scorpions founder Rudolf Schenker, namely Michael Schenker was, had opted out of the English band UFO and was available. Rudolf Schenker and Scorpions gave him preference over Matthias Jabs and completed with him the tarnished tour for their album Love Drive. Because of alcohol problems but Michael Schenker threw in the towel, and Matthias Jabs got his second chance. He graduated from the rest of the tour and was accepted finally as a full member in the band. Composer and author
Matthias Jabs of the Scorpions has some songs composed or co-composed. The first piece Do not Make No Promises was released in 1980 on the album Animal Magnetism. On the album Crazy World of his pieces Tease me, Please me, in which Klaus Meine wrote the text and Money and Fame, where he, with Herman Rare Bell, was also responsible for the text appeared. On the album Eye II Eye piece he wrote on Mysterious with, and together with producer Peter Wolf, the music for the play To Be No.1, and together with Rudolf Schenker, he composed the song You're so dirty. Entrepreneurs and developers
2008 Matthias Jabs opened in Munich under the name MJGuitars a business for guitars and accessories and is the authorized Managing Director. Since 2010 Matthias Jabs is one of the organizers of the Vintage Show at the Musikmesse Frankfurt. Matthias Jabs is an expert in the field of vintage guitars and works closely with the no. 1 Guitar Center Hamburg and Guitar Center Hollywood together.

He is brand owner of the title Master Caster, Mastertone and Fruxano (including his trademark MJ). He holds patents developed by him Pickups Master Bucker Brigde & Neck ( HBSC combination Humbucker / Single Coil ), which he built with his Master Caster guitars.
Matthias Jabs collects guitars and has one of the world's largest private collections in Candy Apple Red Fender guitars that were built before 1965. Altogether there are more than 140 guitars in his personal possession.

After Matthias Jabs heard on the radio with Jimi Hendrix All Along The Watchtower, he asked a classmate what instrument is that this offered him a guitar to learn with him.
