Anta Department

The department Anta is one of 23 administrative units of the Salta Province in northwestern Argentina. It is in the north of the province of Salta, bordered to the north by the departments Oran and Rivadavia, on the east by the province of Chaco, to the south by the province of Santiago del Estero and to the Departamento Metán and to the west by the Departamento General Güemes and the province of Jujuy. The capital of the department is Joaquín Víctor González.

On the territory of the department is the National Park El Rey.
