Antti PihlstrÃ¶m

Antti Pihlström ( born October 22, 1984 in Vantaa ) is a Finnish professional ice hockey player who is since November 2011 in Salavat Yulaev Ufa in the Kontinental Hockey League contract.

Career

Antti Pihlström began his career as a hockey player in the junior department of Jokerit Helsinki, where he was active until 2002. He subsequently moved to the A- juniors with the Espoo Blues, for their first team he played in the SM- liiga 2003-2005. Then he was ever a season long for their league rivals Jokerit HPK Hämeenlinna Lappeenranta and on the ice. After four years in Finland's highest Hockey League, Pihlström was taken on 1 June 2007 from the Nashville Predators as a free agent contract.

In his first season in North America, the attacker scored 45 points scorer in 78 games, including 27 goals for Nashville's farm team, the Milwaukee Admirals of the American Hockey League. In addition, he came to his debut in the National Hockey League for the Predators. After Pihlström also began the 2008/09 season in the AHL, he was assigned in the course of the season in the NHL team Nashville and scored in 53 games two goals and five assists. For the 2009/10 season the Finn joined the reigning Swedish champions Färjestad BK of the Elitserien. In January 2010, he returned to his homeland and Finnish JYP Jyväskylä joined from the SM- liiga, for which he has performed since then. In November 2011 he was engaged by Salavat Yulaev Ufa of the Kontinental Hockey League.

Internationally

With the Finnish national team Pihlström participated in the World Ice Hockey Championship in 2008 and was with five goals in nine games top scorer in his country. He also contributed two assists to reach the third place. At the World Cup 2011 he was World Champion with Finland. At the Olympic Games in 2014 he won the bronze medal with the Finnish national team.
