Arrondissement of Nérac

The Nerac Arrondissement is an administrative district in the department of Lot- et- Garonne in the French region of Aquitaine.

History

On 4 March 1790, founded with the establishment of the department of Lot- et- Garonne, a " district Nerac ," which corresponded to the present arrondissement in parts. On February 17, 1800, the district was from Nerac, extended by some cantons, was founded.

From September 10 1926 to June 1, 1942, the dissolved during this period Arrondissement Nerac was one of the arrondissements of Agen and Marmande.

Geography

The district is bordered to the north by the district Marmande, on the east by the district Agen, on the south by the district Condom in Gers, Midi-Pyrénées region in the southwest of the district of Mont -de- Marsan in the Landes department and to the northwest by the Langon Arrondissement in the department of Gironde.
