Art Garfunkel

Arthur Ira "Art " Garfunkel ( born November 5, 1941 in Forest Hills, New York) is an American singer and actor. He gained fame with Paul Simon as a duo Simon & Garfunkel.

Life

Art Garfunkel's ancestors are descended from Romanian Jews. His parents were the housewife Rose and traveling salesman Jacob "Jack" Garfunkel. Type has two brothers, the older and the younger Jules Jerome. He studied and received a bachelor 's degree in art history and a master's degree in mathematics. Career

The beginnings

Together with his friend Paul Simon, whom he met in the early summer of 1953 during the rehearsals for the play Alice in Wonderland, he was the first musician duo Tom and Jerry (after the eponymous animated figures). Garfunkel was then known as Tom Graph. As of 1957, they called themselves simply Simon and Garfunkel and were known in the folk-rock scene.

After 1970

After the duo disbanded in 1970 after numerous hits and albums, Garfunkel pursued his acting career and also brought out a few solo albums.
