Geographical Location

Aschau am Inn is located in Southeast Upper Bavaria in the foothills of the Alps in the Talniederung the Inn about 65 km east of the city of Munich, 17 km west of Mühldorf, 30 km north of Wasserburg and only 4 km from Waldkraiburg, where, moreover, the nearest railway station on the railway line Mühldorf -Rosenheim, operated by the SüdostBayernBahn, is located. Aschau am Inn is the natural area bordered to the north and west by a richly wooded Altmoräne, in contrast, is in the southeast of the sprawling valley area of the Inn with its glacial Inn- gravel terraces and alluvial forests, the municipal boundary.

History

The first mention was made in the year 788 in Aschau am Inn belonged to Rentamt Landshut and the Neumarkt district court of the Electorate of Bavaria.
