Geography

Geographical Location

Erharting located in Southeast Upper Bavaria in the foothills at the edge of the sprawling Talniederung the Inn about 12 km south of Neumarkt-Sankt Veit, 7 km north-east of Mühldorf, 11 km northwest of Neuoetting and 13 km from Altötting and 86 km from the state capital of Munich. In the district of Rohrbach is a station on the regular traffic of the SüdostBayernBahn railway Mühldorf - Neumarkt-Sankt Veit. In addition, the A passes just south of Erharting past 94 ( connection points Mühldorf North and Toeging ), which aims to provide a quick access to Munich and Passau future.

History

The place was first mentioned in the year 718. In the Erhartinger treaties of 1254 and 1275 the limit of the archbishopric of Salzburg was established with the Duchy of Bavaria. 1322 took place at the Battle of Erharting Mühldorf between Louis of Bavaria and Frederick the Fair instead. see also Postal Dornsberg

Erharting belonged to Rentamt Landshut and the Neumarkt district court of the Electorate of Bavaria. Means the chairman shaft Erharting practiced the archbishopric of Salzburg, the lower jurisdiction over his subjects in this area. In the course of administrative reform in Bavaria, was born with the congregation of 1818, the current community.

Erharting has both a primary school and a kindergarten with 25 kindergarten places. At the end of the school year 2007, the primary school in Erharting was, after about 100 years of history, irrevocably closed. Already in the school year 2006/2007 the school building was used only as a " swap " for the main school Mühldorf. Culture and sights

Building

The Catholic parish church of St. Peter and Paul in Erharting is a baroque building with jewelry full, übergiebelter front. The tower stands on the back and closes with an onion dome. Also, the nave interior with choir and organ loft shows baroque style.
